Sark strikes again

Texas lands heir to legendary quarterback dynasty. Arch Manning, the number 1 ranked player in the 2023 recruiting class just announced his commitment to the University of Texas. Arch is a 6-4 215 pound quarterback from Isidore Newman high school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Manning, a three year High school starter has a record of 25-6. He led the Newman Greenies to a Louisiana Division III state semifinal berth once and one time taking them State Semifinal appearance. During his three years as a starter Arch threw for 6,307 yards, 81 touchdowns,17 picks and rushed for 742 yards along with 19 rushing touchdowns. Arch is now the 3rd quarterback in college football history with a perfect recruitment rating the two other QB’s to do that are none other than Vince Young and Quinn Ewers, both at Texas.

Now the bigger question is what does this mean for the Texas Longhorns? It means a ton of things. First it sets the university up for future success. In about a 9 month period Texas not only got the best QB from last year’s class top recruit Quinn Ewers they got the top player in the 2023 class Arch Manning. This means when Quinn is done Arch can come right in where he left off. This will also help once Texas gets to the SEC. I believe if Texas didn’t move to the SEC this would not have happened. His uncles Payton and Eli Manning both went to SEC school so perhaps that’s where Arch wanted to go. This will also have a big boost in recruiting which is something that Steve Sarkisian’s and QB coach AJ Milwee who landed Arch and Quinn in the same off season.
