On a Thursday day afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama, Texas State and Georgia State were tied 5-5 in the bottom of the twelfth inning of an elimination game in the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
After a scoring drought since the seventh inning, the game would proceed to keep going. It was the twelfth inning by the time we saw some action on the scoreboard.
Pitcher Ryan Watson was on the mound trying to send it to another inning. With one out and no one on, Daylan Peña stepped into the box. After taking the first pitch, Peña got a hold of the next one and sent it out to left, winning the game for the Bobcats and keeping their tournament hopes alive.
