Founders

Sam Pasco is a student at the University of Pennsylvania (Class of ’24). In December 2018, he and Teddy created Dons Insiders – a media entity centered around the University of San Francisco’s Division-I MBB program. In March of 2019, Sam created the Sports Department at KXSF 102.5 FM San Francisco – @KXSFsports – which saw him cover Bruce Bochy’s final season as the SF Giants Manager, the Golden State Warriors inaugural season at Chase Center, and Pac-12 Football games as a credentialed member of the media. Sam was featured on ESPN’s Korean Baseball broadcast three times alongside the likes of Jessica Mendoza, Tom Hart, and Tom Burke. At the same time, Sam was one of 35 Tier 3 credentialed media members that was allowed inside Oracle Park to cover the SF Giants 60-game regular season.

Teddy Solomon is a student at Stanford University and a co-founder of Dons Insiders. As a lifelong college basketball fan and a student of analytics and statistics, Teddy has combined his passions to take the college basketball media world by storm. He has interviewed Rui Hachimura, Canyon Barry, Colbey Ross, and many more throughout his time as a college basketball journalist. Outside of college basketball, Teddy spends his time competing in table tennis around the United States. Teddy is currently also the co-Founder of Fizz, a social platform to facilitate hyper-local authentic communities.

Alumni Mentor & Growth Advisor

Andre Monroe is freshman at Penn State (Class of ’26) and a contributor for Insider Institute. Andre is originally from Philadelphia and is a die-hard fan of all the teams there. Especially the Eagles and Sixers, the two teams and sports Andre loves the most. Andre also has attended the Play By Play broadcasting camp and has a podcast called “The A&M Show” with a fellow camper. When he’s not typing or covering sports, Andre can be found playing lacrosse and basketball.

Senior Editor

Kellan King is a Senior at San Francisco University High School and the senior editor for Insider Institute. Kellan is a passionate college sports fan, including USF basketball and Stanford football, and is currently working on a better way to predict point spreads for college basketball games. Kellan has also been to Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camp 3 times. Outside of covering college sports Kellan also enjoys playing baseball and basketball.

Aanya Shamdasani is a junior at The College Preparatory School in Oakland, CA. She spends her time playing tennis for the Girls Varsity Team and loves anything to do with F1 or the NFL. She is passionate about women’s representation in sports and manages her school’s student-run sports social media page, producing game day graphics, media days, highlight reels and more. Aanya is no stranger to journalism and broadcasting, contributing articles to her school’s newspaper and participating in her school’s stream team. In her free time she enjoys scoring games for her school.

Contributors (Summer/Fall 2022)

Cullen Avent is a senior at Houston’s Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, and enjoys spending his free time watching and analyzing the game of basketball. Whether it be a high school, college, pro, or semi-pro game, Cullen is immediately intrigued and searching for new ways to study the sport. Aside from evaluating the sport, Cullen also plays basketball competitively and plans to enter the sports journalism field.

Ishan Parikh is a Freshman at Lowry Freshman Center. He loves all Dallas sports, specifically football and basketball. He also enjoys playing instruments as well.

Aiden Beversdorf is a Freshman at Petersburg High School in Petersburg, Texas. His favorite sports are football, basketball, and baseball. He wants to do play-by-play for professional sports in the future

David McAtee lives in Dallas, Texas and is a Freshman at St. Marks. He follows all things basketball and football including college and pro. He is a massive fan of the Mavs, Cowboys, and Texas Longhorns. He’s always wanted to do something in sports because he figures it would awesome to get paid for doing what he loves, talking about sports.

Carter is a rising Junior at St Thomas High school in Houston, Texas. He originally didn’t care much for sports, everything changed when his friend got him a copy of Madden 17 for my 11th birthday. Since then he’s loved watching the floundering Texans, the once great Rockets, and the always stellar Astros every week from my living room. His primary focus in sports media is writing but he’s not camera shy.

Hunter Cornejo is a Senior at Sapulpa High School just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is very passionate about sports, and his favorite sports are football and baseball. He looks forward to going to college and pursuing his dream of being a sports broadcaster.

Chase Kozmetsky is a sophomore at Hyde Park in Texas. He likes soccer, basketball, football. He has been a Texas fan since he was a baby. Sports is his passion in life and he hope to pursue a career in sports.

Jonathan Gurley is a Junior at The Briarwood school in Houston, Texas. He’s been watching sports since he was seven, with his favorite sports being baseball, football, and basketball. He is interested in almost anything in the sports broadcasting world whether it be writing on TV or play-by-play this is the field he wants to do. He is committed to it and wants to further his experience in it.

Contributors (Spring 2022)

Max Weil is an incoming senior at San Francisco University High School and a contributing writer for Insider Institute. Max is an avid college and professional football fan, and has video and podcast experience on his weekly Fantasy Football show “The Kenny and Berty Show”. Although based in San Francisco, he is an Oregon Ducks football aficionado, with expertise in Pac-12 football. Max also has experience in covering general NCAA D-1 basketball, as a fan his entire life. Outside of covering football Max spends his time helping with data analytics at OSKR LLC.

Jake Lieberman is a rising sophomore at Menlo High School and a lead contributor for Insider Institute. Jake is a huge sports fan, but in particular college basketball fan.  Jake has been writing with SB Nation blogs and been in touch with highly-touted recruits. Even though Jake lives in the Bay Area, he is a big Missouri and SLU fan because he has lots of family from there. Jake would love to do something in basketball as he grows older.

Grant Flood is a rising junior at Rising Tide Charter School in Plymouth, Massachusetts and a lead contributor for Insider Institute. His hometown is in East Bridgewater and he is a fanatic on all sports: NHL, NFL, MLB, NBA, WWE and NASCAR. He is a loyal fan for his local teams but also a devotee for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Kings, New York Mets and Portland Trail Blazers. Grant is currently commentating a variety of sports games on SportsCastr along with being a member of the All Sports Talk Show and a writer for Tecmo Hole. Last summer, he attended Play by Play broadcasting camp, and Grant is also the founder of the PowerSkate Show on SportsCastr. When he’s not covering sports, he enjoys watching past sports games, researching sports and statistics and posting current sports news daily on social media.

Isaac Fleischer is an incoming junior at Cypress Bay High School (Florida) and a contributor at Insider Institute. Isaac is extremely passionate about all things basketball whether is is at the NBA, college, or high school level. Isaac currently has a show on SportsCastr where he interviews college athletes, coaches, members of the media, and much more. At school, Isaac is the high school basketball team’s equipment manager, P.A. announcer, and D.J. Through his experience, Isaac hopes to achieve his dream job of one day becoming a nationally recognized basketball coach.

Samuel Reis is an incoming Junior at Franklin High School (Massachusetts) and a contributor for Insider Institute. Samuel is from Franklin, MA and is a die-hard Boston Sports fan. Samuel is a big fan of the Patriots, Revolution, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox. Samuel currently does play by play commentary for sports games on SportsCastr and is part of the All Sports Talk Show on SportsCastr. Samuel has attended Play by Play broadcasting camp and commentates sports games at his high school for Franklin TV, a local cable channel. When not covering sports, Samuel enjoys playing soccer and tennis.

Ryan Randone is a junior at St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts. Ryan is both an aspiring sports broadcaster and writer. He is a fan of all the Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Bruins. On SportsCastr, he currently broadcasts mostly college football content, in addition to NFL and college basketball. Ryan previously wrote for FL Teams.com.

Isaac Edelman is an aspiring sports broadcaster and writer. He is a huge South Florida Sports Fan, and runs a website called FL Teams (flteams.com).
